Playa Bowls

For my second taste test, I decided to head over to Mine Street for a Playa Bowl. When I walked into the fluorescent purple building, it was tiny on the inside & there were a few people sitting at the counter by the window enjoying their bowls and Finding Dory on the TV screen above them. I gazed at the menu on the wall at a ton of different flavors and toppings. The bowl flavors included acai, pitaya, green, chia pudding, and coconut - which each had at least 5 different topping combinations. I could've even layered flavors if I wanted to! After a few minutes of careful consideration, I finally chose the "Nutelloco bowl". Blended raw coconut, coconut milk, banana and agave topped with more banana, strawberries, granola, raw cacao, coconut flakes, and Nutella drizzle. Can you say YUM?! I paid $10.56 (which I thought was a little steep, but totally worth it) and watched the girls behind the counter carefully make my bowl. The seating counter was full, so I decided to take it home & I couldn't wait to dive in (after I took my picture, of course). I think it is definitely safe to say it was love at first bite. I am a huge Nutella fan, and coconut fan, and banana fan, and I'm pretty much a big fan of everything else in my bowl, and everything else Playa had to offer. My Nutelloco bowl had a creamy coconut base, crunchy granola, and fresh fruit with sweet chocolatey Nutella. What more could you ask for?! Definitely 10/10 would recommend, & if you're not in the mood for a bowl, you can also order a smoothie, juice, or even soup. Check out their menu at www.playabowls.com & their Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/playabowlsrutgers/. Place your order online now or head over to 53 Mine Street for a healthy way to avoid that freshman 15 & get your sweets fix!
